This comprehensive five-day training program was designed for government officials—including policymakers, administrators, and trade negotiators—from Uzbekistan to deepen their understanding of the legal and procedural aspects of invoking anti-dumping, countervailing duty, and safeguard measures. The course covered key technical aspects of trade remedy investigations, such as normal value determination, calculation of dumping and subsidy margins, and injury and causality analysis; laying a solid foundation for both policymakers and future investigators.

A portion of the curriculum focused on the experiences of WTO Members (e.g., Brazil, the European Union, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the United States), examining their legislation and investigative procedures. The training also included a review of WTO jurisprudence, analyzing relevant disputes and addressing complex issues in trade remedy investigations.

This program builds on earlier efforts to support the drafting of Uzbekistan’s new trade remedies legislation, ensuring alignment with WTO standard
